I am heading off on holiday in a few weeks to sunny Spain –  totally ready for some relaxation time with the family, a chance to catch up on my reading and top up my tan since London summer has not yet arrived! Here are a few purchases I made in advance and I can’t wait to pack them in my suitcase!

Naked Palette – I had to relent and buy this Naked Basics Palette. I just needed some eyeshadow I could wear everyday while I love my Naked 3 palette for the shimmery shades, I just felt the matte ones didn’t suit me. I love the size of this one and that it can fit right in my make up bag! Plus I bought it in duty-free and everyone knows what you buy at the airport doesn’t count!

BB cream – Summer time is here and with that i have banished my foundation and moved onto BB cream. I used to use the Loreal one and I thought I would try a Garnier one. I love the coverage it gives, still enough t. However I unfortunately bought it in a shade too dark for me so I had to go and buy the fair shade! Luckily it was a serious bargain –  it is currently on offer in Superdrug for £4.50 so get on down and try it out!

Statement earrings –  I loved these black, white and gold aztec style earrings for summer and they are definitely going to be my summer earrings!

Headscarf  This was a risky purchase as I am slightly concerned I look like a 6 year old wearing this scarf but I wanted something to keep my hair off my face when I’m by the pool or beach. I feel I am kind of getting away with it so far….or so I like to think!

Necklace – My mum had this necklace and last time I was visiting I didn’t take it off me and was go glad to see that H&M still had it in stock! I love the white necklace with a white top for summer. My mum, my sister and me all have really similar taste when it comes to jewellery and since I live in a different city we can’t share the way we used to. So everytime one of us buys a necklace, you can almost guarantee someone else will buy it within a few weeks!

Make-up bag  This was probably my most expensive purchases but I desperately needed a make-up bag that actually fitted everything in this and I loved the gorgeous Liberty fabric of this one. Its from Maggs London and I think they make a great present for someone, or a treat for yourself!

Springtime blossoms

Springtime has been creeping in slowly, with a few false starts in London but perhaps it is almost here at last. Saturday was a trip to one of my favorite places in London, which I just don’t visit enough. Notting Hill with its pastel houses, cute shops and blossoms is a lovely way to spend a Saturday, meandering the streets and moving from coffee shop to coffee shop. It seems like so long ago we were last in the area (see here) and I don’t know why we don’t head west more often. The weeks just seem to fly by!

We headed for a wander around the market and to have some lunch before attempting to take some photos of me. Euan needed some shots of him for work and he is such a natural poser, with every photo being almost perfect. I on the other hand am so awkward and after a few minutes I will give up in bad temper and end up with just a few usable shots. Modelling is definitely not for me….

I have been shopping around for three things: new brogues, a breton top and a new statement summer necklace to tie all my outfits together. And I have found them all! Warning: you will see these on me ALOT over the next few months!

Saturday style

This has been a chilly week, even through my coat and gloves the air has felt frosty. However, waking up on Saturday was a pleasant surprise for the sun to be out and the air not quite so cold. I had a quick run before getting ready for a birthday brunch! I am going through a phase where I am trying to wear things from my wardrobe that I haven’t worn in a while to stop the temptation from buying new clothes … at least until January is out of the way! As a result I couldn’t find anything similar to what I am wearing so I have put together a similar look with stuff in shops now that I love! What do you think?!
