My 27th birthday this year was really one of the best I have had yet. Instead of a party or presents, we decided that both me and Euan would spend our birthdays in Bali together, with new experiences and having the holiday of a lifetime.
My birthday started with an early morning wake up call, courtesy of Steven, our resident cockerel who liked to cock-a-doodle-doo from about 3am. We had booked onto a snorkelling trip for the morning, with out goal being to find manta rays and go swimming with them. Our guide, who spoke no English, took us out on a rickety boat, first across the calm water of the bay…
Before long we we out on deeper water, where the water turned form turquoise to dark blue, but still crystal clear. We tried a few spots but we had no luck finding rays. So we gave up and decided to make the most of the day with the the coral reefs teaming with life.
A day spent by the pool, with enchiladas for lunch and spent the afternoon sipping cocktails. What was so nice was everyone at the hotel wishing me happy birthday and really meaning it! A few Australians were heading over to Lembongan for sunset drinks at a cool bar called The Deck, so we headed along to and chatted and danced the night away with prosecco and new friends.
Now to plan the location for next years birthday!!!
