Sunset dinner

We have just had a lovely weekend with E’s parents who were visiting from Glasgow. We ate out lots, went to see the Woman in Black at the Fortune Theatre (well worth a see) and met again on Sunday evening for an early dinner.

We met at 5pm at the Oxo Tower for their sunset menu, three courses and a cocktail for £30. We managed to get a table outside, right at the edge of the balcony with stunning views over the river and the city.


We had delicous Citron Sherry Collins to start which were the perfect summer aperitif.

How to make one at home:

  • 50ml Absolut citron vodka
  • 50ml manzanilla sherry
  • 20ml almond syrup
  • 15ml fresh lemon juice
  • Elderflower soda
  • Lemon wedge
  • Fresh mint
  • Fresh Thyme

I had Thai spiced fried chicken, pink grapefruit and bean shoot salad with spicy chilli sauce to start, followed by pumpkin gnocchi with pesto cream and parmesan for my main. All the food was absolutely delicious and I could have ate almost anything on the menu. Dessert was the only course I managed to photograph, with E going for Eton mess and me choosing Carameliso mousse with banana bread and peanut butter cream. It was delicious! I scoffed it down in just a few bites and could have eaten another!
